When our client, a family with a young daughter, moved from Sydney to a 25-acre block in the Adelaide Hills, they wanted to get back to nature, enjoy a slower pace of life and create a home for making cherished family memories. We collaborated with Mountford Williamson Architecture to design a home for their lifestyle: warm, earthy and relatable with a touch of luxury.

Floor-to-ceiling windows embrace views of the landscape and a natural palette with textural, tactile materials creates seamlessness between inside and out. The oak timber ceiling extends from the living area to exterior eave; the rustic characteristics of Wormy Chestnut joinery reflects the beautiful imperfections in nature; and vibrant olive-green joinery, furnishings and lighting evoke the lush green surrounds. The bathroom is a luxurious sanctuary with black three-dimensional tiles providing an almost cushioned appearance.

Brick walls bring texture to the internal structure of the house, including the custom brick-veneer rangehood. The kitchen is concealed from view with the island serving as a casual dining table. Much of the furniture was custom made, providing an even more personal touch for future family memories.
