Set on a magical property in the Adelaide Hills, this house was a wonderful collaboration between Fabrikate and Mountford Williamson Architecture.

The house is carefully sited and designed to make the most of the views, with an L-shaped floorplan wrapping around the outdoor terrace and swimming pool, and a warm, textured interior with materials that relate to the bushland hills setting.

Natural stone floors were selected to seamlessly connect spaces, anchor the house to its site, and set the foundation for a home that draws attention on the gorgeous view.

Rammed earth and timber bring texture and warmth inside, while smoked oak joinery is inspired by the rich brown hue of the dried vines in winter.

The handmade rug in the sunken living room became the fulcrum to our colour palette, with other furnishings in pops of orange, warm clarets and smoky blues.

The custom joinery was designed with a focus on simple forms to accentuate the beauty of the colour and grain. It provides built-in storage throughout the home, allowing for a beautifully pared-back interior.

Our clients have true adoration and pride for their home. It has a been a truly wonderful experience working with them to make it their own.
